Saint Ephrem the Syrian

Saint Ephrem the Syrian is beloved and honored by all traditions of the church’s as a Holy Father, Doctor, Hermit and Deacon. He lived in the 4rd century and was ordained Deacon by Saint Basil, he refused any other episcopate offered by Saint Basil and chose to be a hermit. He made important contributions to the spirituality and theology of the Christianity through poetry and hymns for different occasions, but his most prominent work is the Wudase Mariam, which is widely used in the Tewahedo Church.
