Today we celebrate with our Coptic and Ethiopian brethren New Year in the Church calendar. We remember the feast of St. John the Baptist, whom Herod witnessed flying into the air and crying out, saying, “It is not right for thee to take thy brother’s wife”; it is said that the head is at the present time in the country of Arabia. May God bless us with the saints humility and steadfastness!
